Welcome to the Brown County Barn Burner - all of it! This booking includes all four unique units (9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, with space for up to 29 people), the rooftop patio, AND the Event Space downstairs, included for your entire stay.

This is a stay with plenty of room to spread out. Meetings during the day, a rehearsal dinner Friday night, or extra tables for games when the weather turns - the Event Space is yours the whole time, no separate rental to coordinate.

The Barn Burner consists of four fully independent units, each with its own kitchen, living space, and private entrance, but all located in the same building with shared space on the rooftop patio:

All bedrooms feature premium quality Parachute-brand bedding, Tuft & Needle mattresses, curtains, blackout shades, and a white noise machine. The Twin XL beds can be pushed together into a King upon request.

Extra bedding and pillows are provided, and bathrooms are stocked with plush Parachute towels, Public Goods amenities, and other essential toiletries.

Each unit has a fully stocked kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances (electric range, microwave, French door refrigerator and freezer, and dishwasher) and butcher block countertops. 

You'll have everything you reasonably need to cook, from pots and pans to basic cooking ingredients.

Dine indoors at the four dining tables or gather on the rooftop patio for a meal outside.

Each cozy living area features comfortable seating, cozy blankets, and a collection of card and board games. The flat-screen smart TVs include Roku TV access for your subscription streaming services.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the building.

Enjoy the spacious rooftop patio, the perfect spot for morning coffee, evening cocktails, or s’mores around the gas fire table. With covered seating, ceiling fans, a gas grill, and glowing string lights, this space is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

The rooftop patio is the primary shared space between all the units, making it a great gathering place for larger groups that have rented the entire building.

1-North also has a private ground-floor patio with a grill and dining setup.

Each unit at the Barn Burner has a Pack ‘n Play, highchair, kid-friendly dinnerware, a selection of blocks and games, and a safety gate for the stairs. 

All windows have blackout shades, making it easier for little ones to nap or sleep while the rest of the group enjoys their stay.

Event Space Capacity:
Overnight, the Barn Burner can sleep up to 29 people. For your gatherings in the Event Space, capacity depends on your setup, but here are some recommendations:
☀ Seated Meals: Up to 60 people (30-50 people is most comfortable)
☀ Collaborative Meetings/Discussions: Up to 30 people at tables facing one direction, or in a horseshoe or circle
☀ Lecture-style Presentations: Up to 70 people with chairs set up theater style
☀ Weddings & Receptions: Up to 45 people with tables for a seated meal, a head table, and a small dance-floor area

Have a bigger group than can fit in our lodging? Lots of groups use the Barn Burner as home base - the core group stays here while the rest stay nearby in town and join for meals and events in the Event Space. I’m happy to share recommendations for other in-town lodging if needed.

☆☆ PLANNING A WEDDING? READ THIS FIRST ☆☆

Wedding-related events in the Event Space require the full lodging to be booked (good news - that’s exactly what you're booking here!). Rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, post-wedding brunches, and micro-wedding ceremonies or receptions are all welcome, and a great use of the space.

To be clear about capacity: if you are planning a wedding reception and want a traditional dance floor plus dining tables, you're realistically fitting 20-30 people in the Event Space, not 45+.

Most wedding groups use the Barn Burner as home base for the wedding party, but hold their ceremony and reception at a larger venue.

Guests are welcome to bring their own food or hire a licensed caterer of their choice for events in the Event Space.

Planning to serve alcohol at your event to guests not staying in the lodging at the Barn Burner? You'll need either a licensed and insured bartender or an event liability policy that covers alcohol service - the rental agreement has the details, and I'm happy to answer any questions for you.

You'll have exclusive access to all four lodging units, the Event Space, the rooftop patio, and four dedicated on-site parking spaces.

Check-in is contactless with key-coded door locks. Your unique door code, along with detailed check-in instructions and parking information, will be sent 1-2 days before your arrival.

☆☆ PARKING & GETTING AROUND ☆☆

There are four dedicated parking spots behind the building, accessible via Honeysuckle Lane. Additional free street parking and public lots are available nearby.

Rideshares like Uber and Lyft are very limited here, so plan to drive or walk - most of town is within walking distance, but you’ll want your own vehicle for venturing beyond it.

☆☆ LOCATION ☆☆

The Barn Burner sits at the corner of Jefferson and Washington Streets - a few easily walkable blocks from Nashville’s locally owned shops, galleries, restaurants, and coffee spots. The paved Salt Creek Trail (less than ¼ mile away) leads to the Brown County Music Center, and you’re under a 5-minute drive from Brown County State Park, with Bloomington and Columbus an easy drive beyond.

☆☆ HOST AVAILABILITY DURING YOUR STAY ☆☆

We live a few miles outside of town and work in Nashville, so we’re usually nearby if you need anything - though unless you reach out, you likely won’t see us in person during your stay.

☀ Check-in is flexible any time after 3PM.
☀ Check-out is any time before 11AM.
☀ Event Space access follows your stay - 3 PM check-in to 11 AM check-out.
☀ Stairs are required to access 3-East, 3-West, and the rooftop patio from 2-South.
☀ The Event Space and 1-North are fully ADA accessible.
☀ Quiet hours are observed from 11 PM to 7 AM, and amplified music or loud activities in the Event Space must end by 10 PM.
☀ Pets are not permitted at the Barn Burner.
